Alejandro Balde, a teenager from Barcelona, leads the European community

Barcelona had much to celebrate after its victory over Real Madrid, and all the statistics for the match are in their favor. There may be a statistic that sets itself apart more than others

Alejandro Barde has become a regular at Barcelona's left-back  this season. His presence was no longer news as Jordi beat his Alba and Marcos his Alonso competition

Strong on defense and offering width on offense, Balde is now a crucial part of the Barcelona ecosystem these days, with Xavi Hernandez often playing without a left winger.

Part of the reason for this is that Balde will not only take the position going forward, but  also provide some  numbers that go along with it.

According to Squawka, no other teenager in Europe's top five (now five) leagues has provided as many assists as Alejandro Barde. His pass to Frank Kesy winner  ended the title race for many. Including the penalty shootout victory over Manchester United in the Europa League increases that number to six.

He is also third in the  La Liga standings behind Real Sociedad's Mikel Merino  and Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann.

According to FBref, Bardet also ranks in the top 10% of completed passes, pass accuracy, take-ons, successful take-ons, carries and distances compared to other full-backs in the top five leagues. There seems to be no doubt that Barcelona will have a left-back in the next 10 years.
