Chelsea can save £22 meters with the perfect solution to Abraham's transfer jigsaw
Abraham, who saw his contract at the Stadio Olimpico come to an end in 2026, presented 27.Both for Jose Mourinho's camp in the A series this season, contributing directly to just ten goals. The Italian giants have confirmed that Chelsea has inserted a clause in the contract of the English international that allows them to sign it again this summer if they so desire.
However, Tiago Pinto, CEO of Roma, did not specify the fee, although it is around EUR 80 million (GBP 70.5 million). Abraham has been heavily tied to a return to Chelsea since his departure in 2021, but his buyout clause has always been hard to justify.
But, the West London group may have received the perfect response to their question on a silver platter. According to Calciomercato, Roma are ready to sell Abraham to the tune of €45 million (£39.7 million)
Of course, the Blues buyback clause, is much more important than the strike's market value, but the report indicates that Chelsea will take priority in all negotiations. Calciomercato add that Romelu Lukaku appeared as a potential currency for the Blues should they seek to sign Abraham as part of a player's more money proposition.
With the British estimated at £39.7 million and the Belgian international at £17.6 million, Boehly could save £22.1 million. However, the report concludes by stating that Chelsea could face fierce competition from Aston Villa, which has a "greater" interest in Cobham graduates.
Despite Abraham's misfortunes this season, Pinto is confident that the attacker will soon be back in shape. Addressing Sky Italia, quoted by Calciomercato, the Roma chief said: He achieved seven goals.
There are also other ways for attackers to help the team. We and he expected more figures, but so do the attackers.
If they score in two parts, it all turns out differently. He helped us last season [and] he's coming back this year. But we have two powerful forwards and it must push further. I am confident that it will help us."
