N'Golo Kante took another important step toward healing after playing on a Chelsea development team
N'Golo Kante made his comeback in the match for Chelsea on Friday while playing in a friendly development group against Charlton Athletic. Kante finished 60 minutes on his return with Dion Rankine, Silko Thomas and Malik Mothersille all in the crosshairs in a 3-0 win.
Earlier this month, the Frenchman returned to the first team's full practice after missing all but two games in the 2022/23 Premier League season with a major injury to the ham rope. Blues head coach Graham Potter then confirmed that Kante was prepared to take an important step in his return to competition during the international break.
Potter's first reflections on the plan for Kante have now turned out to be true - although with the. Opposition from outside Cobham - with Chelsea confirm Kante is starring against Charlton on Friday afternoon on the club's website. The post said, "N'Golo Kante played 60 minutes in closed session this afternoon as he nears a return to action for Chelsea.
N'Golo has been training with the team for a couple of weeks and will look to keep going.his return from injury in the next few days, before the entire team returns from the current international truce at the beginning of next week."
Kante is also involved in contract extension talks with the club, but through each passing day, it appears more and more likely that he will remain a Chelsea player beyond the summer.
