Graham Potter will send a key transfer message to the Chelsea Premier League selections

Chelsea's goalie position is sure to ask a lot of questions when the summer transfer window comes around with Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga both fighting for first place

Many players are expected to leave Chelsea at the end of the season as the club only needs to sell players to balance the account after  seven players arrived full-time in January

In the last two windows, the club have signed a total of 14 new players (on permanent contracts) but have only granted permanent transfers to 12 players, most of whom are not actually in the first team. Chelsea have a massive squad right now, which means  Graham Potter will need to keep a few behind every game

Chelsea has a number of players who will get into the final 12 months of their contract with the club when summer arrives. Cesar Azpilicueta, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all have an unclear future at Stamford Bridge

There are couples Mount and Kovacic, Chelsea are still hoping to convince them to sign an extension with the club, but  the rest  the club could try to get rid of them in the summer. Todd Boly looks to avoid past mistakes at Chelsea by allowing player trades to deteriorate and losses on almost nothing or  free transfers

It also impacts those whose contracts run out in the summer of 2025. One of those is Edouard Mendy. The Senegalese goaltender has not played for Chelsea since last year's World Cup and has been sidelined by a finger injury

Kepa Arrizabalaga was the one who took Mendy's place in the team and overall the Spaniard did a great job in his absence. Kepa doesn't necessarily deserve to be dumped alongside Mendy, who is valued at €25m (£22m) on Transfermarkt

Mendy is too good to be the number 2 keeper and will be looking to leave Chelsea if he can't reclaim Kepa's spot for the remainder of the season. The goal is to be better than the second choice option

Kepa almost left Chelsea last summer with a relocation to Italy, but the business broke down late, football. London understands. Now, almost twelve months later, things are much different at Stamford Bridge for the Spanish bumper. But there are still conversations going on behind the scenes at the club after signing a new goalkeeper, so it might be neither of Kepa or Mendy that will be Potter's first-choice next season

Marcus Bettinelli is expected to leave the club this summer with his contract coming to an end and no immediate plan to extend his deal. That would leave Chelsea with two first team's goaltenders to Mendy and Kepa, although Gabriel Slonina could be promoted if he was judged ready.
