Nicolas Jackson of Villarreal will join Chelsea for €35 million


For the 22-year-old attacker Nicolas Jackson of Villarreal, Chelsea and Villarreal have reached a €35 million agreement.

Fabrizio Romano claims that despite a lot of interest in the forward for Villareal, the Blues have prevailed in their pursuit of Jackson. Prior to the upcoming season, the 22-year-old forward is scheduled to sign with the London team.

Jackson has progressed inside Villarreal. Ahead of the 2022–23 season, he was elevated to their first team. And because to his outstanding play in just his first full season in the Spanish top division, he has managed to establish quite a reputation for himself.

The 22-year-old played in 38 different games and spent more than 2,100 minutes on the field. In his first year playing in the top division, Jackson managed to score 13 goals and helped with five assists.

Due to the Senegal international's impressive performances, other clubs expressed interest in hiring him.

Chelsea, though, has triumphed in the end. The player and the club have reached a complete understanding with the Blues.

They are prepared to exercise his €35 million release clause, but they will pay the entire sum over time.

Because the Blues are willing to pay a little bit more than the termination clause, Villarreal has also agreed to it.

Over the weekend, Jackson will have his medical, after which he will sign a long-term contract with the Blues.

Prior to the upcoming season, Chelsea was in a critical need of a new forward. The 2022–23 season had seen the Blues struggle to score goals, and they were in serious need of attack reinforcement. 

The Blues have been successful in acquiring a top-notch forward with a diverse temperament who will undoubtedly boost their goal total.

Jackson will undoubtedly be a terrific addition to their team, even though their new boss Mauricio Pochettino might push for another forward considering that Kai Havertz is about to join Arsenal.
